Pregnant with my second baby, I had a lot of consideration for how I could support my toddler to integrate the experience and feel included. I wanted him to see this journey as exciting and powerful. We read our story together, so he knew what was safe and normal. It taught him about pregnancy, birth, and what a newborn baby is like postpartum. We played mini midwife while he bonded with my belly—measuring, listening, and rubbing in oil. It was such a conversation opener.

My little boy cuddled and swayed with me at home as I laboured and birthed his sister into the world. It was so magically uneventful. I felt as though our family’s space had been so protected throughout our perinatal journey. My hope for this book and my other birthing products is to support
